BMI Custom Docks are built to last and to meet or exceed your expectations. They most certainly exceed any local building codes, just ask local building inspectors, they have no choice but to compliment us on our work. Our docks have mastered the test of time and more importantly have mastered the test of our Southwest Florida weather, including several named storms and hurricanes. Our customers will attest to this. Please ask for references. Typically it all starts out with us designing a layout around your own ideas and needs and then preparing and permitting everything for the actual construction. While your dock is being constructed it will be clearly visible why it's built to last. We build a frame using rough sawn pressure treated lumber, instead of nominal size lumber, for added strength and thoroughly bolt it to the pilings. Please note that all pilings are mechanically driven to a depth of 6 feet or refusal. After having built a solid substructure it is time for the decking. As you may know there are many choices ranging from wooden decking to composite decking to PVC decking and all different brands and products come in a variety of colors. More importantly different products have different warranty terms. Please enlist our help so that you can make an educated decision. When applying the decking we predrill every screw hole to prevent "mushrooming" and after the decking is installed we trim and router all edges to deliver a nice, clean and finished appearance. Once the dock has been completed you still have many choices for finishing touches ranging from piling caps to rope or railing and so on. Possibilities seem endless. See Dock Images
